boundaries by mirrors

A hair salon project in Omotesando. Within a layout where styling stations are arranged along a glass wall facing an exterior staircase, the rear view is not simply concealed but redefined as a device that reorganizes the relationship between gaze and space. A low-transparency mirror is applied to the back of the stations, reflecting the surrounding environment and gently blurring the boundary between inside and outside. The circular mirrors reduce a sense of pressure while softening the framing of reflections, allowing spatial depth and relationships to hover. As the dynamics of seeing and being seen are subtly inverted, the configuration invites a heightened awareness of the space itself.

鏡による境界線

表参道の美容院計画。外階段に面したガラス壁に沿ってセット台を配置する構成の中で、背面の見え方を単に隠すのではなく、視線と空間の関係を編み替える装置として再定義した。セット台背面には透過率を抑えたミラーを用い、周辺環境を映し込むことで、内外の境界をゆるやかに撹拌する。円形のミラーは圧迫感を抑えつつ、像の切り取り方を曖昧にし、空間の奥行きや関係性を浮遊させる。見る／見られるの関係が反転しながら、空間のあり方そのものを知覚させる構成としている。
